Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Technical Product Owner to serve as a cross-functional leader across the business teams and the Data Engineering and Enterprise BI team. The Product Owner “owns” one product and acts as the business representative to the technical team while representing the team to the business. Key focus areas for this team include migrating legacy reports and data marts to Power BI and Redshift Data Warehouse, as well as conducting advanced customer analytics to enhance customer engagement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders based in the USA to understand the problems they are trying to solve, and the business value associated with solving those problems.
- Break complex ideas into Epics and User Stories required to deliver business value and ensure alignment with the technical delivery team on what success looks like.
- Actively lead discussions to identify ways to iterate on ideas to improve upon results or design.
- Participate in scrum meetings including daily stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint planning, and grooming sessions.
- Define and prioritize the product backlog in Jira, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Works closely with the development team to ensure timely delivery of features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Utilize Jira and Confluence as the main collaboration and documentation tools.
- Creates mockups to help visualize requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to the development team, clarifying requirements and resolve issues or roadblocks.
- Perform product demonstrations for leadership and gather feedback for potential product enhancements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated expertise in a Technical Product Owner or similar role, preferable in a Business Intelligence or Data Warehouse environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- Extensive experience writing requirements in the form of user stories and related acceptance criteria.
- Strong understanding of BI concepts, methodologies and tools.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as scrum, Kanban, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on understanding, documenting, and describing complex technical subjects.
- Ability to collaborate, build relationships with, and influence across organizations at all levels.
- Ability to work in fast paced environments and adapt quickly.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of AWS Cloud services, in particular S3, RedShift, Athena, SNS/SQS, DMS and Glue.
- Eperience with DBT
- Optimistic and curious, help build an Agile culture that embraces an Agile mindset.
